Temtem Evolutions Guide - Is it just like Pokemon?
This MMO creature-collector RPG has been making sounds across the internet as the first real Pokemon competitor. And while it is still an early access game and still in development, the game publisher, CREMA, has done a great job taking feedback from the community, unlike Game Freak.
It is impossible not to compare the two, some Temtem are similar to Pokémon, and the system is almost a copy of the Gamefreak mainline series. Though we have to say that CREMA did a great job implementing some balancing changes to make Temtem feel slightly different from its competitor. You could even say that it’s a “level up evolution.” Jokes aside, we’ll go over some of the main differences between both franchises via this Temtem Evolutions Guide, in evolution methods, battle, and what it means to evolve by level up, so that you choose, capture and evolve your Temtem in the best way possible. Let's take a look!

For starters, less Temtem and fewer types (12 creatures types against Game Freak’s 18) means that the game is way more balanced, or at least, nothing feels overpowered. The Stamina bar works as a mana bar for Temtem, and not everything is decided by speed. All moves have a priority multiplier—a level up matters, but priority the most.
However, one of the main differences between Temtem and Pokémon is the specific evolution method. Temtems can evolve from one second to another, in the middle of the battle, if the requirements are met, and there are no set levels for them to evolve. Basically, a Temtem needs to earn a certain amount of level to evolve, meaning that if you have a Crystle at level 5, it requires 27 levels to evolve at level 32. But if you captured a Crystle at level 10, it will evolve at level 37. Gaining xp and levels is crucial in Temtem.
That’s quite the difference, one that translates into a bit more time and effort.

Level up your knowledge in Temtem Evolutions
So, do all available evolutions in Temtem work like that? No, but most of the evolutions do. The game is still in an early access stage, and there are still more evolution methods and creatures to come; Temtem is not complete yet. While leveling up is the most common form for both franchises, there are a few outliers. Some Temtem can only be evolved through trading. Others require some special items or completing special quests.
Temtem evolutions provide a great power boost to your creatures, even more than a mere level up. So we highly advise that you go for it, remember that some Temtem don’t have evolutions. At the same time, don’t rely much on a single Temtem to win, since the format is double battles and stamina will run low on your adventure. Level your Temtem one by one to succeed.
That said, here are all the Temtem evolution requirements for every single Temtem in numerical order.

Temtem starters, evolutions and stats
From the previous list, the three starter Temtem are Houchic, Crystle and Smazee. Each of these Temtem has two evolved forms, which increase their stats in different ways. You'll receive one of these at the beginning of your adventure. Next we are going to describe each of them.
Houchic, Tental and Nagaise
Maybe the most unknown of these three starter Temtem. Houchic is a very cute mental-type Temtem whose stages arrive after +29 levels and +24 levels, respectively. The statistics for each of its evolutions are the next ones:

Temtem Evolutions guide conclusions
That was it. Those were all the Temtem evolution methods currently known. There are still many unreleased creatures, and we still don’t know when there are going to be new Temtem or evolutions added into the game. We hope it will be in the near future. As you may have noticed, some numbers were skipped, meaning that they are unconfirmed planned Temtem. For now, we can only wait to see what new evolution methods and forms are coming into the game.

FAQ
Can you evolve Temtem?
Yeah, you can do it. Just train them, trade them, or take them into a shrine. You’ll need to progress to the game in order to get to some places. So we recommend you play through the game, do a side quest here and there (our favorite being the cultist hunt), and most of your Temtem will evolve naturally.
At what level does Temtem reach evolution?
It depends on the species. Remember that a Temtem needs to get to a certain number of level ups before he reaches his next evolution. It’s a changing goal post that depends on the time/level you got the Temtem. In short, just level up your team, and soon you’ll see the evolution animation.
Can you stop Temtem from evolving?
Yeah, you can. If you want to stop the evolution process, you need to hold or press a certain button three times. If playing on PC, press Z, Esc. or right-click on the mouse. While B or Y on Xbox and the equivalents on their counterparts. If you later want to evolve him, you can still do it on their details page without a further level up.
Where can I find information about Temtem?
Try the Temtem wiki, jump into it to get an overview. The community is ever-growing with updates and new players getting into Temtem every day. We know that the “fandom gaming community” can get a bit weird from time to time, but so far, it’s one of the most welcoming communities out there.
Is Temtem out?
It’s still an early access game, and the game content is still being updated and patched regularly. CREMA studio does have a certain number of Temtem to be released with the game, but that still may change with time. So far, it’s a great ride for Temtem!
